I received an email from WVR today saying they really really want me back. The offer was personalized to me in the email (in a form letter kind of way), but here is the online offer (minus my name of course). It appears I have until tomorrow to respond to this "incredible offer" that includes a World Collection Membership for $99.95 $59.95 or a US collection Membership for $39.95 $19.95. But that's not all, if I respond to either offer by 22 October I will also get a free gift!
I never renewed my subscription when it came due a long time ago because I found very little use for WVR...and my question is: Has it improved any? Has anyone had any significant success using WVR?

WVR has been a complete bust. I won't be renewing it. The special offer last Christmas included the book 'Google Your Family Tree', which I was planning to purchase anyway. The one collection that I thought would be useful on WVR was the Simmons Publications but so far, they have not proved to be very useful, not enough to justify renewing.

Personally. I think the site is very dated and offers little , when compared to Ancestry.com. more than a year ago, I purchased a one year membership which was supposed to include a year of The Everton Genealogical Helper Magazine. I never got the magazine as I think they went out of business. They offered me no rebate or substitute. They lost me a customer and without some significant changes, will never get me back, despite their almost daily email attempts telling me I have one last chance.

I tried their free access that they gave as a facebook promotion and couldn't find anything of value. They also called me up to give me some offer that included NewspaperArchives.com which is another site that I actually got suckered into paying for but can't find anything useful.
Maybe it's just me but it seems like all the stuff you're really looking for is somehow always missing?
