How People Eat Around the World

I just found a great little photo slide show in the online edition of Time Magazine.  It has nothing to do with genealogy or family history except that it highlights cultural aspects of various countries by showingFood photos of what families eat around the world.  It shows what they eat, how much they spend in a week, and what the family's favorite foods are.  I was struck most by the contrast between the the US and Great Britain photo sets and the rest of them.  In both of these two countries the photos show boxes, bags, and bottles of processed stuff with just a little bit of fresh food (it actually looks like what goes on in my house).  Then look at the rest which includes Poland, Italy, Mexico, Egypt, Mongolia and others and you see mostly fresh food with minimal boxes, bags and bottles.  I have no real editorial comment about this - I just thought the contrast was interesting, and frankly, most of the other countries food looked a heck of a lot more appetizing.
